With a steady population increase since 1980 and a growth rate of 31% in the last decade, the biggest challenge for Greater Nassau County will be to manage progress while maintaining its country roots.

The trends can be seen in retail and other lines of commercial business with large retailer expansion along Florida's A1A highway in Yulee. As growth and development pushes it along this same highway, plans are to build a 10,000 home community on 37,000 acres near I-95 - an expected build out of up to 75 years. And the economic impact of this growth is not yet calculated.
